Like a pin was stuck into my side, I feel so deflated. The will to carry on has long since gone from my system. So I’ll just take the time to rebuild my emotions and hope that, one day soon, some happiness can be reborn.
Thankful, I am, that we were there, by your side, bidding you farewell. A shame, it is, that your fine hands will never please our ears again.
You watch our lives evolve from what they once were.
How we strive to honour you and keep this hope live.
To let this pain die, and realise you’re gone.
No matter where we go, or what we do, or how we try to grieve; you still have our hearts.

Days Away

The night comes again.
The same, always the same, time after time.
These days don’t ever change.
I thought I saw you, in the fog of my restless consciousness. Hidden in the shadows.
But it was just a trick, of my unwanted mind. A vision with no meaning.
I don’t want to be awake in this room ever again.
So it seems we’ve been abandoned, with our eyes still fixed on what’s above.
My own comfort feels impossible.
Since I was last awake, seasons have passed but, I’m still the same.
Alone and untouched, like a relic of faith.
The night comes again.
I changed, oh how I changed, into a frame of the man I once thought I was.
And I’ll refrain from making these mistakes all over again.
Will my mind ever cease to race?
